Photo of the day from Reddit: a screenshot from Death Stranding 2, which turned into a reference to the cult film E.T.

The r/DeathStranding subreddit has exploded again: a user under the nickname Jephory shared a screenshot that gamers have already dubbed "pure art". The picture shows the game's protagonist hanging on a cable with a load against the backdrop of a huge full moon. It seems that the night sky perfectly matches the artist's imagination. But there is one interesting nuance.
What we know
The comments immediately noticed that the composition with the moon looks like a clear allusion to the poster for Steven Spielberg's E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial, where the hero is riding a bicycle against the backdrop of a full moon. Even one of the comments simply reads: "ET is finally going home".
The author of the photo explained that he took the shot during a clear, cloudless night on top of a mountain between the aerospace engineer and observatory locations. According to other users, to see such a giant moon, you need to get to the highest points on the map - and then the sky will give you a similarly spectacular moment.
One commenter describes that during a similar night, he also saw a "ghostly monorail train that went into the sky and disappeared into space". It's hard to say whether it's a bug, an Easter egg, or just a manifestation of Hideo Kojima's ingenious atmosphere, but the effect is wow.
Other users add that they have noticed how the orientation of the moon changes depending on the region of the map, for example, between Mexico and Australia.
And one more important question from the comments: "How did you even manage to hit that damn container on the zipline?!" - and the answer is: you can, but only with one container. The rules of physics of the Death Stranding universe also have limits.
Reddit users have already dubbed this image "the perfect art manifesto for the game". Indeed, this is an example of how virtual worlds today give us emotions that we used to get only from cinema.
We would like to remind you that we wrote about the discovery of The Kojima constellation was discovered in Death Stranding 2.
