Toyota has unveiled the new Land Cruiser Hybrid. It is the most powerful version of the Land Cruiser 300 to date, producing a total of 457 horsepower and 790 Nm of torque.

Here's What We Know

Under the bonnet of the SUV is a petrol 3.5-litre twin-turbo V6 engine, which is assisted by one electric motor. The new modification received a 10-speed automatic transmission and, of course, an all-wheel drive system.

Detailed specifications are still being kept under wraps, but Toyota Australia has indicated that the hybrid model will outperform the diesel version in terms of towing capacity. However, there is one small compromise: the hybrid version comes with a 68-litre fuel tank. In the regular petrol version, the tank is rated at 80 litres.

Visually, the hybrid can be identified by a revised front bumper with modified air intakes, as well as the "HEV" inscription on the tailgate. The battery is charged by energy recovery during braking, so there is no charging port hatch as on plug-in hybrids.

Differences in the cabin come down to the digital dashboard graphics typical of Toyota's hybrid models. Toyota has not specified the volume of the boot, so it is not clear yet whether it has become smaller. But there is a power outlet in the boot.

The partially electrified SUV has been unveiled in the Middle East, but is expected to hit other markets in the near future. In the United Arab Emirates, the Land Cruiser Hybrid is already available to order at a starting price of UAE AED 389,900 ($106,200) for the VXR trim and UAE AED 409,900 ($111,600) for the GR-Sport trim.

The model is also confirmed for Australia, where it will appear in the first half of 2026. There is a possibility that Toyota will bring the hybrid Land Cruiser to the Japanese market in the near future.
