Sony has released the new WH-1000XM6 headphones, which not only have improved sound quality and new features, but also become more repairable.

Here's What We Know

Compared to the previous XM5 model, the new product has become more convenient to use and maintain, as evidenced by a recent video where the well-known iFixit portal disassembled the device.

One of the most important advantages is improved maintainability. Unlike the XM5, the WH-1000XM6's battery is not glued in place - it can be easily replaced by removing just two screws. The USB-C port, button board and audio jack are similarly modular. This significantly extends the life of the headphones, as replacing the main parts does not require complex disassembly.

The main change was the return of the folding design - the headphones can now be folded compactly, making them more practical for travelling. A convenient carrying case is also included with the WH-1000XM6. In addition, the headphones have improved Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), added an AI mode that isolates voices from the background, improved sound and call quality, and updated Bluetooth to version 5.3.

The WH-1000XM6 has a new QN3 HD processor that "improves performance by up to 7 times", a 12-microphone system for better noise cancellation, and Multipoint support.

The battery will provide the WH-1000XM6 with up to 30 hours of battery life with active ANC, and 3 minutes of charging gives 3 hours of listening time.
