Sony's new Fairgame$ live service may have "elements of Fortnite and The Division" - rumours

Recently, Sony's initiatives to launch live-service projects have been going through a rough patch, to put it mildly, especially given the disastrous failure of Concord last year and the cancellation of several such games from Bluepoint and Bend. Additional difficulties arose around Fairgame$, the first game from Haven Studios. Recently, Sony has officially confirmed that the studio's founder Jade Raymond has left the company.
Here's What We Know
According to Jason Schreier from Bloomberg, this happened after external testing, the results of which caused concern among developers. At the same time, the reasons for Raymond's dismissal remained unclear even for the team itself. According to the Sacred Symbols podcast (via Patreon and analyst MauroNL), the project in the pre-alpha version had a working title Project Hearts, and the feedback on it was disappointing.
Users noted that the game "feels awkward" and "very raw". The gameplay is described as a combination of battle royale and extraction shooter with elements of Fortnite and The Division. Despite the idea of robberies and confrontations with other teams, Haven Studios has not yet demonstrated any official video game material.
When We Can Expect It
It is expected that Fairgame$ will be released in the spring of 2026, but due to Sony's revision of its live-service strategies, the project may be cancelled.
