Here's What We Know

Photos of the downed missile were published by Defence Pakistan on the X network. The images show parts of the hull and the BROACH multi-stage warhead, created by the BAE Systems consortium. This 400-450kg warhead is designed to engage fortified targets such as bunkers, command centres and airfields.

The French-designed Microturbo TRI 60-30 turbojet engine is also visible. It is known that the Indian Air Force received SCALP missiles with the first batch of Rafale aircraft. Although the exact number of missiles has not been disclosed, experts estimate it at around 150.

According to Defence Pakistan, the missile was fired during a night attack on 7 May 2025, when an Indian Rafale fighter jet was shot down by Pakistani air defence.
