Toyota has presented an updated European version of the Corolla Cross. The crossover for the first time has a GR Sport configuration. This configuration differs not only in visual changes, but also in chassis settings and an additional driving mode.

Here's What We Know

The updated model will stand out with 18-inch wheels and a voluminous inscription Corolla Cross at the back. The crossover also gets a new grille with honeycomb structure and lighting technology:

  • Adaptive Matrix Headlights AHS (for top-end equipment),
  • New LED strip design in the headlights,
  • redesigned taillights with aerodynamic protrusions.

The cabin is greeted by a new centre console, gearbox selector, more powerful inductive charging and a faster Android Auto that is now "as good as Apple CarPlay".

Toyota's Smart Connect multimedia system now comes with a 10.5-inch display in base trim. A 12.3-inch digital dashboard is also available for most markets. Toyota engineers have worked on the noise and vibration insulation of the car's interior, and especially for top-end packages have developed a special three-layer component that dampens engine sounds.

The model is available in two hybrid versions: Hybrid 140 and Hybrid 200. These include AWD-i all-wheel drive and the new Snow Extra mode, which optimises traction and stability on snow by using the rear electric motor.

The GR Sport version, the first in the Corolla Cross lineup, is highlighted by:

  • 19-inch black discs,
  • a unique grille,
  • black Toyota emblem,
  • special Storm Grey paintwork with a black roof,
  • BRIN・NAUB (velour + eco-leather) sports seats with red stitching and GR logos.

Technical refinements include:

  • 10mm lowered suspension,
  • reconfigured steering,
  • New Sport Mode, which increases idle speed and boosts braking when the throttle is released - for sharper and more responsive dynamics.

All of this is combined with Toyota's T-Mate safety package with OTA updates and the third-generation Toyota Safety Sense system.

The updated Toyota Corolla Cross will arrive in European showrooms in the summer of 2025. The GR Sport version is expected at dealers in autumn.
