More cores, more performance: Epic Games head talks about one of the main innovations of Unreal Engine 6

For more than twenty-five years, Unreal Engine has remained the most popular and efficient game engine. Each new version of this toolkit provides developers with new opportunities to realise their ideas, and Epic Games plans to further improve this platform.
Here's What We Know
Epic Games CEO and Unreal Engine creator Tim Sweeney took part in a podcast hosted by popular blogger Lex Fridman in which he confirmed that his company is working on a new iteration of the engine.
According to Sweeney, Unreal Engine 6 should not be expected to change dramatically, as the developers focused more on eliminating the shortcomings of the current version. Thus, the famous programmer admitted that the use of only one core processor for game simulation, although greatly simplifies programming and optimisation, but significantly reduces the possible performance, because of which open-world games created on Unreal Engine, often suffer from insufficient frame rate and other technical problems.
Tim Sweeney confirmed that with Unreal Engine 6 all cores will be used when programming games, but warned that in the next 2-3 years it is not worth waiting for the release of a new engine. So for now, Epic Games will continue to develop UE5, and in two directions at once: one version of the engine is being developed with developers in mind, and the other is intended for the Fortnite community.
