Jagex studio, known for the popular MMORPG RuneScape, announced a new game based on the same universe, but in a different genre.

Here's What We Know

The game is called RuneScape: Dragonwilds and is an open-world survival simulator.

The project is created on Unreal Engine 5 and will be released in Steam Early Access this spring. As in any survival simulator, players will have to start from scratch, either alone or in a group of up to four people, by mining resources, creating increasingly complex tools and building temporary dwellings in order to eventually challenge and defeat the Dragon Queen.

The world of RuneScape: Dragonwilds will feature a new fundamental entity, Anima, which can be used as a source of energy or used to create magical items, such as ghostly axes to make chopping down trees easier.

At the end of 2024 RuneScape: Dragonwilds alpha testing took place, which showed that the game is almost ready for Steam Early Access, so the last preparations are being finalised at the moment. After that, the authors will continue to improve the game and fill it with new content based on the audience's wishes.

Jagex Studios promises to reveal more details on 15 April on Twitch broadcast.
