Rebellion CEO discusses big gaming projects and interaction with players

Jason Kingsley, CEO of Rebellion, has expressed his admiration for the way large studios manage complex game development processes. In an interview with PCGamer, he noted that managing projects involving thousands of developers requires extreme organisation.
Here's What We Know
Kingsley emphasised the complex hierarchy in such large-scale productions, where multiple levels of management ensure consistency of processes. He acknowledged that such projects are impressive in their scale and budgets, but can also be overly cumbersome.
His views reflect Rebellion's approach to game development: the studio prefers smaller, more focused projects. He also noted that Rebellion's audience is usually older than that of such series as Assassin's Creed or Grand Theft Auto.
Kingsley shared his own experience: often starting big games, he is forced to leave them due to lack of time. In his opinion, it is important to create game worlds that players can complete and want to return to.
Where To Play
The studio's next game, Atomfall, will be available on Xbox Series, PlayStation 5, and PC.
When We Can Expect It
Atomfall will be released on the 27th of March.
